Teena Tornado

That's what I've always called her. Teena Tornado. This kid is a twirling entity of hilarious, crazy and wtf every single day. Here is the latest example.

"MAMA LOOK AT ME I made a smell guard so I don't hafta smell the rice cooking LOOK MAMA LOOK"!!!!!

When I say every day, I mean Every. Single. Day. ALL day.

Here is her writing fort. To the unafraid eye, it might look like a pile of trash. For the love of xanax, never-ever say that. Keep only thoughts in your head as to the brilliant nature of her structure. Or she will know. And you will pay.

If you're wondering why a few "bricks" on the side are wonky, I better make it clear that it was MY FAULT for trying to walk in my own house to sit on my own couch. And I ALMOST RUINED it, only barely redeeming myself by sort of fixing it but not- as- good- as she did it.

On a few occasions, I've been forced to dismantle a fort despite my strong sense of self preservation. The result is a child screaming as if I'd just mislabeled one of her myriad my little ponies. Which is the same level of fury/despair most folks aim at ohhhhh I dunno,  Mexican drug cartels.

I like to take selfies. You know, where you use your phones camera to take a picture of yourself? Well, Teena and I were set up to take a few nice ones. This happened instead.

Sigh. Double sigh, double sigh.

  1. OMG - how funny is that photo of Teena and her "invention"! I had no idea that cooking rice was so smellawful. I may have to get one of those for my husband when I cook bacon - which he hates with every fiber of his being but which my girls love. So sometimes he has to suck it up while I cook it for them and what better way to do it than through Teena's smell guard? Have you contacted the Patent Office yet?

    1. OMG Maggie, my DH hates the smell of bacon too! How is that possible? Bacon is one glorious smell. And ps, BG loves bacon. Of course.

    2. I'm a little concerned for both of you. Bacon is fabulous and the smell makes me tear up with joy. The husbands need a support group. Maybe some counseling.
Patent pending- I shoulda put that in!

    3. That is pretty funny. We should have a baconfest - send the men out to play golf or see a movie (basically just get them out of the house) while we fry up as much bacon as possible. And then just have a good old bacony time with the girls. Yum!

    4. Not only does my DH hate the smell of bacon, he also despises the smell of popcorn, a wood fire in the fireplace and anything else you can think of that smells like New England winters.

That's what growing up in Tuscany will do to your sense of smell.

      I guess.

    5. I feel so sad for you having to deal with your husband's multiple olfactory issues until I remember that you spend summers in Italy! Then I don't feel sad at all - more like terrible envy and jealousy!

  2. Haha, love the fort. Maybe she will be an architect when she grows up? Or an inventor.

    1. She can be whatever she wants, as long as the yearly salary equals the yearly cost of her education. Also, pays the bills for her elderly parents :)

  3. The final photo is worth a lot!

  4. I'm still pondering the fact that there isn't cereal, etc. poured out all over the floor from those boxes. That's what it would look like if Noah did that.

    1. She took the boxes out of the recycling pile! Believe me, a box full of cereal would be no barrier to her design plans.
